The children that Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) serves, are in foster care and have experienced abuse and neglect. They are often living in an unfamiliar place, going to a new school, new city, and their entire life has been turned upside down- through no fault of their own.
Savannah/Chatham CASA wants to help children in foster care be like every other kid. Our "Let a Kid be a Kid" fund will pay for sports and club fees, uniforms, equipment, and other "kid stuff".
All kids just want to be kids. Children who are in foster care are no exception. The don't want to be "the foster kid", they don't want to be asked why their family may look different- they want to be asked what sports they play, what is their favorite thing to do at school. They don't want you to know about the abuse they went through and the trauma it continues to cause everyday. They want you to know about their favorite video game or how excited they are for their ballet recital, or summer camp.
Please consider a donation and help a "Kid be a Kid", and next time someone asks them "what do you do for fun?", they will have a really great answer to that question.
